Ammathany Palace

Ammathany Palace.

Ammathany Palace is a castle in the Old Forest. It was one of the three residences of the Mattin royal family, and could serve as the capital of that country as needed. The royal Mattin court was based at the site at the time of the collapse of the Golden Bridge, making it the final capital of Mattinas.

Location

It is situated in the Hunting Forest, 36.5 silvans (about 27 miles, or 43 km) southwest of Doriandan. It is accessible by road from there, along with the few communities on that route.

Site

The Palace grounds consist of the castle itself, its gatehouse and other minor fortifications, and a small village just outside the gate.

Palace and Haunting

Ammathany Palace itself is abandoned, and is haunted by the final ruler of Mattinas.

The influence of this supernatural presence emanates from the castle, and can be observed throughout the Old Forest. On the castle grounds, the king is able to detect intruders, and defends the site from trespassers by supernatural means.
